We would like to thank you all for following our journey so far, and hope that you have enjoyed the pictures and commentary.

And I know it has been difficult to catch up on the previous blog mainly due to bad WiFi in hotels, but also the time in going through tons of photos from both us and creating the blog.

So on this section, each day I will update where we actually are with a google map, and a few selected photos of the day.

If we take loads of photos for a particular day I can update those days, and send a message out to say more have been added for you guys to check out.

I totally underestimated the planning of route 66 and up to now I’ve been up to the wee hours compiling the blog, so I need to scale things down a bit in order we enjoy the trip during the day.

It also doesn’t help that I am also transferring footage from 2 dash cams as well, so that I can do a complete time lapse and real time video of the whole 10,000+ mile trip!

So to mark the start of route 66, it starts on Day 27! – Enjoy!

Day 27 – Chicago Hotel to Chicago Route 66 Begin sign. To Springfield, IL.

So before we head off to Chitown, we had 1 important job to do…

… And that was to give Tess a good wash, she hadn’t been washed since we left BC, and with 3 days of poop on the roof and sides, it was time!

And with a clean car to start 66 off we went..

The Journey into town took quite a bit to be honest, it was a Saturday and there was some festival on and cops had closed a few blocks off, and relying on Google Maps entirely it was a mess!

But we was getting there….. quick pix of the famous Chicago Theater on route to the sign..

And made it!….

Now let’s get the hell out of here!!!
